ABOUT US

NexGen Soccer helps kids ages 2–12 learn the game in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Our focus is on building real soccer skills, confidence, and strong habits that carry over both on and off the field.
We keep things simple with three core rules every child follows:

  • soccer-ball-liWhen coach talks, you LISTEN
  • soccer-ball-liNEVER give up
  • soccer-ball-liAlways have FUN

Our coaches design sessions where kids improve, stay active, and enjoy the game — while parents see real progress week after week. Every session balances skill development, confidence building, and positive energy so players feel supported and motivated to grow.
At NexGen, we don’t just teach soccer — we help kids develop discipline, belief in themselves, and a love for the game.
Have your child become a champion with our program.

Get Started Today

Mataar and Patrick grew up in the San Fernando Valley and have been playing soccer since they were three years old. They first crossed paths in middle school, but their friendship didn’t truly take shape until COVID stopped the world — when every day turned into hours of training, studying, competing vs each other, and forging their friendship into a brotherhood. Iron sharpens iron wasn’t just a saying; it became the foundation of their ambition, work ethic, and belief that they were meant to achieve something bigger. They got into coaching youth players as a way to support their professional soccer dream and studied the art of coaching. Finding inspiration in figures such as John Wooden, Sir Alex Ferguson, & Tim Grover.

NexGen began with one simple idea: players deserve better. Everywhere they looked, they saw the same patterns — overcrowded groups, unfocused sessions, coaches going through the motions, and kids who weren’t developing the right way. Nothing felt intentional. Nothing felt personal. Nothing felt built for the player.

So two young coaches with professional experience, a passion for teaching, and a deep love for both the community and the beautiful game decided to create something different. Something structured. Something meaningful. Something families could trust.
At 15, Mataar moved to Israel to live on his own and pursue his goal of becoming a professional soccer player. At 16, Patrick stepped away from competitive soccer and began pouring his time into coaching and developing kids. When they turned 18, everything aligned — and NexGen Training Academy was born. What started as one private session in Tarzana sparked a vision that has grown far beyond a single session.

Today, Mataar Moskowitz and Patrick Barsoomian have built NexGen Training Academy from the ground up into a community-wide movement — a place where kids fall in love with soccer, grow as people, and develop the confidence, discipline, and life skills to become champions on and off the field.
